Darwin D. Martin House Conservatory Window Detail Pendant Necklace

Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959) is recognized world-wide as one of the greatest architects of the twentieth century. His work heralded a new thinking in architecture, using innovation in design and engineering made possible by newly developed technology and materials. His creative ability extended far beyond the border of architecture to graphic design, furniture, art glass, fabrics and decorative products for the home. The design of this product is adapted from a conservatory window in the Darwin D Martin House built in the historic Parkside neighborhood of Buffalo, New York, in 1903. Wright elegantly rendered the characteristic components of a flower as geometric abstractions from nature in the original fifty-seven pieces of art glass adapted to fit different window and door openings in the conservatory - an elaborate greenhouse.
