What is a Moth Ball (A.K.A. Snow Ball, Cream Filbert)?
Start with a Filbert nut (simple enough) and Blanche it (remove the skin) and then absolutely drench it in Fondant sugar (A fancy icing usually used on Petitfours). Now cover that in confectioners and granulated sugar and you have a Moth Ball.
They are not only delicious, but they also have a spectacular appearance for a centerpiece bowl, as a plated dessert, and they make a great snowman for gingerbread houses.
