Frank Lloyd Wright Jewelry Shop Window Cuff Bracelet
Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959) is recognized world-wide as one of the greatest architects of the twentieth century. His work heralded a new thinking in architecture, using innovation in design and engineering made possible by newly developed technology and materials. His creative ability extended far beyond the border of architecture to graphic design, furniture, art glass, linens and decorative products for the home. In 1927, Frank Lloyd Wright designed a series of twelve monthly covers based on seasonal themes for Liberty magazine. When submitted, Liberty judged the covers to be too avant-garde for the time to be published. The magazine returned Wright’s presentation drawings and they became the basis for later interpretations executed in diverse media. “Jewelry Shop Window,” with its delicate representations of jewels and jewelry, is the one most rarely seen and one of the most feminine of the cover designs – very appropriate for this adapted jewelry.
