The Sugar Baby Watermellon may be petite, but it is also mighty. This is an excellent variety. Sugar Baby is an "Icebox" Variety with a strong, dark green rind and bright red, sweet flesh. This melon measures 6 to 8 inches in diameter, and its average weight is 8 to 10 pounds. Because of its small size, Sugar baby can be grown successfully on a trellis. Harvest watermelon when the bottom of the melon is yellow and then the little "curling" of the stem dries up.
