The Farmer's wife was a monthly magazine published in Minnesota in 1893-1939. In that forgotten era, the magazine offered community among Hard-working rural women: to provide a forum for their questions and concerns and to assist them in the day-to-day goings-on about the farm - Everything from raising chickens to managing funds, to dressing children, and yes .. to cooking.
These recipe's from those day's have now been updated with current USDA recomdenations for safe use in the modern kitchen.
